Mental Illness Progressive Dinner - Pretty Cool Idea! (Bonnie's blog 5/17/17)

Peggy Huppert, Executive Director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, joined us in the studio today just after the 8:30 news.  Many famous people throughout history have suffered from severe mental illness, but yet, have gone on to accomplish great things.  NAMI is sponsoring a progressive dinner on May 19th that will feature actors and actresses at each home played by famous people with mental illness...Judy Garland, Ernest Hemingway, Carrie Fisher, Samuel Clemens, Audrey Hepburn, Mackenzie Phillips and more! Unfortunately, the dinner was so popular, it's already sold out.  However, you can still participate in raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness by going to their on-line auction which begins on Friday at 5:30PM and lasts thru 11:30PM on Sunday.  Just go to  For more information on mental illness, go to

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, Drake Football Coach Rick Fox will be joining us in the studio.  It's time once again for Football Camp!  Also, 2 more chances to win $1,000 in our Make Your Wallet Great Again contest. And, do you know anyone with dimples?  We have a contest coming up next week to find the cutest dimples!  The winner gets their teeth whitened FREE courtesy of Lifetime Dental Solutions!

Stay dry!  I know I'll be busy this afternoon before the husband texted me a picture of a large tree down on our yard!
