Belle Du Chene, of the Des Moines Arts Festival, joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8:30 news. The Festival will run June 23rd thru the 25th in Western Gateway Park. This is the 20th anniversary. There will be 180 artists as well as lots of entertainment including a performance aerial team. They are still in need of volunteers. Volunteers get free Dart rides to and from the event and a free t-shirt. The hours of the Festival are this Friday and Saturday from 11AM-10PM and Sunday 11AM-5PM. Matt Swim of the Iowa Barnstormers joined us by phone this morning just after the 6:30 news to give us the details on the "Fan Bus" to the Iowa Barnstormers playoff game in Sioux Falls this Saturday. The bus will leave downtown Des Moines at 9:30AM and $55 gets you a seat on the bus as well as your game ticket. Scott Mayher of the Liberty Foundation joined us by phone just after the 7:30 news this morning. The World War II B17 Bomber is located at Signature Flight Support at 5600 Fleur Drive. On Sunday from 10AM-2PM, they will be offering 1/2 hour flights and from 2:30 til sunset, they will be offering ground tours of the plane.
