Migrating Snow Geese invade western Iowa

(MISSOURI VALLEY, Iowa)   Nearly a million migrating Snow Geese have landed in western Iowa, and apparently they like it there.

Desoto National Wildlife Refuge Park Ranger Peter Rae says the geese make a lot of noise, and have attracted a ton of visitors.

He says they've never had this many migrating Snow Geese before, and when they're all on the lake, it appears as if the surface of the lake is covered in snow.

Ray says the geese are resting in western Iowa, near the Missouri River, because there's too much snow and ice in Canada now and they have an easier time feeding and resting here.
