DES MOINES, Iowa - Several rivers in north central and eastern Iowa are in Flood Stage or Action Stage after a weekend of storms and heavy rain, and others are still rising.

The Cedar River at Cedar Falls will peak less than a foot from major flood stage  Monday night into early Tuesday.  At Waterloo, the Cedar is still rising and should peak late Monday in Minor Flood stage.

The Winnebago River at Mason City peaked at minor flood stage Saturday and is falling now.

There is no flooding in central Iowa.   CLICK HERE for most current Iowa river flood MAP.

Iowa State Park near Waterloo closed

Heavy rains from this weekend have caused flooding of the Cedar River and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has closed George Wyth State Park.

The Cedar River is expected to begin falling after Wednesday and the main roads in the park are expected to be covered by water. Trails and other areas of the park may also be impacted by the flooding.

Park officials hope to have the area back up open for public use by next weekend.
