Raccoon river fills up and the "Road Closed" signs go up

As the rain kept dumping on northwest Iowa, officials along the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers in central Iowa are watching the flood gauges.

Des Moines Public Works Director Jonathan Gano says George Flagg Parkway will be closed because of flood water.  Two trails...the Neal Smith trail from 6th Avenue to Birdland Marina and the Bill Riley Trail from Water Works Park to Walnut Creek are closed.

But Gano says Fleur Drive likely won't have to close until Friday morning.

And Gano tells WHO Radio News the levies are holding up well so far.
