MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa - An Iowa State Patrol Trooper had a close call with a semi trailer rig during the snowstorm this weekend.
The semi smashed into the patrol car while it was stopped along the side of Interstate 80 near Mitchellville, east of Des Moines.
The trooper was out of the patrol car at the time, investigating a earlier crash.
The trooper was not hurt, but the patrol car has extensive damage.
