Snow totals, blowing snow, windchill IOWA MAPS

National Weather Service Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa - As Iowans clean up after the ice and snow from Tuesday into Wednesday, next up is blowing snow and bitter cold.  The map above from the National Weather Service shows expected wind chills in Iowa Thursday night.

On Thursday much of the state will see winds from the Northwest 20-25 miles an hour, with gusts 35-45. That will cause blowing and drifting snow, and lower visibility for drivers.  The map below shows areas most likely to have blowing and drifting snow.
