It's so cold there's no mail in Iowa

Add mail service to the list of cancellations for Wednesday.

The US Postal Service says the bitter cold has forced them to cancel all mail deliveries for Iowa, Minnesota, Western Wisconsin and Western Illinois.

However, it's not shutting down Iowa state offices.

Governor Kim Reynolds isn't ordering them closed. She told reporters that "this is Iowa", indicating that we're used to cold weather and can manage to deal with the bitterly cold temperatures.

Already all three of Iowa's state universities, Iowa State, the U of Iowa and UNI announced they're shutting down Tuesday night through Thursday morning. Many Iowa schools have also closed due to the forecast for bitterly cold weather.
