Robber arrested Thursday after week-long crime spree

38 year old Justin Ware is now in jail. But he committed nearly a week's worth of robberies before that.

Ware was arrested near 6th avenue in Des Moines Thursday in front of the downtown Holiday Inn hotel. Before that, he'd held up a Conoco station in West Des Moines, the Taco Johns on Ingersoll in Des Moines and tried to hold up the Save A Lot store on southwest 9th.

His vehicle crashed into a picktup truck Thursday afternoon, then Ware climbed a fence, went down a 15-foot embankment and tried to flee on foot on I-235. He's in custody.

Vinelink reports that Ware was also wanted for fleeing custody on a prison sentence that runs until 2026.

Ware is in the Polk County Jail. He's facing one count of Ongoing Criminal Conduct, and three 3rd Degree Theft charges.
