It was a slippery day for motorists Sunday as more snow fell in central Iowa.

Des Moines Police say that between 5 am and 5 pm Sunday, they responded to 29 crashes.

That includes one in the 6000 block of Douglas near Merle Hay Mall, where a vehicle hit a utility pole. That not only caused the pole to break in half and fold over onto the vehicle, it's also credited with a power outage in the northwest section of Des Moines Sunday afternoon.
