DES MOINES, Iowa - Des Moines police say a man was arrested early this morning for pointing a rifle at his girlfriend during a fight.

Police were called to the 400-block of Hart Avenue around 12:30 am. Upon arrival, children were running from the house screaming at the first officer to hurry because "he hasn't shot anyone yet."

An officer burst into the home and was able to get 30-year-old Deandre Grady to drop the rifle pointed at his girlfriend.

Grady was arrested and he's now in Polk County Jail.

According to WHO Channel 13, Grady now faces two charges of domestic abuse assault, three charges of child endangerment, and one charge of intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
