Ways to help after catastrophic flooding in Nebraska and Iowa

OMAHA, Nebraska - The needs are great after flooding in Nebraska and Western Iowa, everything from cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items, to pumps and furniture, even temporary housing is needed.

American Red Cross of Nebraska and Southwest Iowa is accepting $10 donations by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 or call (800) RED CROSS.

Salvation Army of Nebraska, South Dakota, and Western Iowa is helping in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa to help victims of flooding. CLICK HERE for information on how to help or to donate.

Hy-Vee is fundraising and matching donations up to $50,000. Make donations at your local Hy-Vee store. The Iowa grocery store chain is sending truck caravans of food and supplies to the Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa region.

Airbnb has a program called Open Home that links people who've been displaced from their homes with Airbnb members willing to provide free housing. CLICK HERE for information.

United Way of the Midlands is accepting donations through its Nebraska/Iowa Flood Relief Fund. All donations will go to other organizations that are helping with emergency shelter, food, and other needs for flood victims. Text FLOODRELIEF to 41444 or CLICK HERE to donate.

Mills County, Iowa Flood Fund is accpeting donations, coordinated by Mills County Emergency Management. All donations will go directly to flood victims. CLICK HERE to donate on the Omaha Community Foundation website, select Southwest Iowa Funds then Mills County Flood Fund.
