Appeals court rules on Reynolds' plane use

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Iowa Court of Appeals says Governor Kim Reynolds' use of a private plane was legal.

The court says a judge was right to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Des Moines attorney Gary Dickey, who is a Democrat.

He filed a complaint with the Iowa Campaign Disclosure Board saying Reynolds, a Republican, underestimated the value of a flight she and her family took on a donor's private plane to the 2017 Liberty Bowl in Tennessee.

The board tossed Dickey's complaint, saying the flights were OK under Iowa's gift law.

The Appeals Court says Dickey didn't show the harm required to justify overturning the board's decision.
