Iowa DOT says I-29 could close this evening

AMES, Iowa -- The Iowa Department of Transportation says expects rising Missouri River floodwaters in western Iowa to close a section of Interstate 29 north of Council Bluffs Wednesday evening.

The DOT said Tuesday that it expected the the Interstate to close near Honey Creek at some point late Wednesday, but was unsure exactly when.

If and when the Interstate does close, the DOT says detours will be established using western Iowa sections of Interstates 80 and 680.
