Des Moines area native to compete in Olympic swimming trials

(Des Moines, IA) -- A local swimmer who trains at the Des Moines YMCA will compete this weekend in the Olympic swimming trials in Omaha. Justin Winnett has qualified for the 100 meter breaststroke competition. Winnett graduated from Johnston High School, where he was state champ and named a high school All American. Winnett graduated from Lindenwood University in Missouri in 2019, where he was an NCAA Division Two All American.

Winnette will swim Sunday, June 13th, in the prelims starting at 10 a.m. Coverage on NBCSN begins at 4:30 on Sunday.
