More Hot Weather Forecast for Iowa by Week's End

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A stretch of hot, dry weather across Iowa will close the week.

Highs in the mid- to upper-90's Friday and Saturday will feel even hotter with high humidity thrown in.

"Which is going to push our temperatures--what it would feel like--toward that 100 degree mark. It's going to feel very hot and humid Friday and Saturday," says National Weather Service Meteorologist Kristy Carter.

She says the outlook for the rest of the month doesn't show much relief.

"We're going to stay with above normal temperatures and fairly dry conditions. We'll really hone in on temperatures for next week as we get a little bit closer," Carter says.

The National Weather Service forecast shows a bit of a cool-down by Monday, with highs in the upper 80's to lower 90's.

There's a slight chance of rain in Eastern Iowa late Wednesday night into overnight Thursday.

The next opportunity for rain in Central Iowa is late Sunday night into early Monday morning--and it's only a slight chance.
