(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Former U.S. Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer says she's running for the Senate seat held by long-time Republican Chuck Grassley.

The Eastern Iowa Democrat was First District's representative for two years, before being defeated by Republican Ashley Hinson in last year's election.

Grassley, who was first elected to the Senate in 1980, has not said if he'll be seeking reelection.

Finkenauer is the second Democrat to run for the seat held by Grassley--Dave Muhlbauer, a Western Iowa farmer announced his candidacy back in May.
