Names Released In Officer Involved Shooting In Waterloo

(Waterloo, IA) -- Names are being released in an officer-involved shooting in Waterloo. Police say 42-year-old Brent Boggess of Waterloo was shot and killed after his vehicle hit a police squad car after a chase. The officer, Ken Schaaf, has been placed on leave pending the outcome of an investigation. Schaff has been with the Waterloo Police Department since 2009.

Police say the shooting happened November 16th in the 200 block of Madison Street in Waterloo.

Police Boggess refused to exit his vehicle and accelerated, ramming a patrol car with his vehicle head on. Police say that's when the officer shot the suspect.
