Des Moines Non-Profit Delivering Thousands of Thanksgiving Meals

(Des Moines, IA) -- More than 100 volunteers are serving and delivering 35-hundred Thanksgiving meals to needy families in the Des Moines area today (Thursday). Hope Ministries has been collecting food donations for weeks to prepare for this annual tradition.

Spokesperson Kathy Coady says for those who wish to help the organization this holiday season, donors can support Mission Christmas. The program provides Christmas gift bags to one or men of their residents. Coady says they'll likely have 200 men, women, and children staying at their Des Moines shelters this Christmas.

Hope Ministries started in 1915, and provides a range of services for the homeless, hungry, abused and addicted.
