Northern Iowa Police Officer Fires At Suspect, Who Leads Cops On Chase

(Kossuth County, Iowa) -- The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating an officer involved shooting in Algona. The D-C-I says officers were called to the Super 8 Motel around 12:15 a.m. this (Thursday) morning because of a disturbance. Investigators say an officer fired his weapon, the suspect then led officers on a high-speed chase before losing control of his vehicle.

No officers were injured, authorities have not reported the status of the suspect as of this writing.

The officer involved has been placed on leave as per department policy.
