The main lights that will allow continued access to the bridge have been fixed, but some of the iconic, decorative LED lights will remain out on the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge after vandals caused thousands of dollars in damage to the system.
The Omaha Parks and Recreation Department says the programmable lights on the upper portion of the bridge will be out for the foreseeable future because of the damage.
It appears the computerized lighting control system was damaged.
The damage was discovered Monday morning.
