Federal and local investigators say 23-year old Kalem Barber is under arrest on Federal counts of receipt or possession of unregistered firearm and distribution of explosive material to a person under the age of 21.
Investigators say they realized early on the explosive devices used were not commercially available, and posed a danger to the public.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s office, Omaha Fire Department investigators, and the FBI began a joint investigation.
The Sheriff's office says many individuals were interviewed, and it was learned a group of individuals were posting videos of the explosions online.
Videos of the reported crimes were observed along with videos depicting crimes not known at that time.
Through the numerous interviews, and review of videos, investigators observed the consistent use of similar homemade explosive devices indicating a local point of manufacturing.
Earlier this month, the Sheriff's office says a search warrant was executed at a residence in Omaha, with law enforcement recovering explosive materials: approximately 20 lbs of flash powder, cardboard tubes, wicks, and red plugs.
The red cylinder tubes were consistent with the statements and evidence previously gathered.
The components found at the scene were consistent with manufacturing explosives and all components were present to make an explosive device.
