(Omaha, NE) -- Volunteers and supplies are en route to Kentucky and other areas where tornadoes left widespread destruction over the weekend. Seven volunteers are already deployed to the region, and the American Red Cross of Nebraska and Southwest Iowa is organizing additional volunteers as needed.

There were dozens of deaths reported in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee late Friday. Dozens more people have been hurt, and buildings and infrastructure destroyed in the storms.

The Red Cross is also sending blood to hospitals. Approximately 200 additional blood products have already been sent, and the Rec Cross is requesting blood donations to maintain supplies. CLICK HERE for blood donation information.
