(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids School District is being forced to pay a fine because of asbestos found at Kennedy High School. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the school district removed floor tiles containing asbestos while making derecho repairs, but the district didn't take any precautions or follow regulations. The district will pay a $4,500 fine and the company hired to repair damage will pay a $6,500 fine.
