(Undated) -- Former Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman says he won't run for office again next year. The Republican is Nebraska's longest-serving governor and had reportedly considered running again, but announced this morning he won't. Heineman talked about the importance of his family in his decision not to run. Heineman served as Governor of Nebraska from 2005 to 2015 and says he'll stay politically active. So far there are six Republicans who say they're running for governor. Current Governor Pete Ricketts, who took over for Heineman in 2015, reaches his term limit after next year.
