(Des Moines, IA) -- Utility crews are getting ready for a wind storm Wednesday, that could bring 55-to-75-mph gusts. MidAmerican Energy Spokesman Geoff Greenwood says extra crews are being staged in areas that could be at high risk for outages. He says line crews and tree crews are on standby.
He says the strong winds could impact overhead lines and could cause a galloping effect that could also lead to outages or a system impact.
