Omaha/Council Bluffs Area Braces for Wednesday Wind And Fire Danger

The National Weather Service in Omaha says a very strong storm system will bring dangerous winds to the region today.

The winds will be around for several hours.

Damage to trees and power lines is expected, most especially resulting in power outages.

Travel will be very hazardous for high profile vehicles.

The fire danger will also be high.

WOWT 6 News Senior Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord says wind gusts will be the main threat, but there is an increasing chance of strong to severe storms in the area.
