(Pasadena, CA) -- The Waukee Warrior Regiment of Waukee High School and the Waukee Northwest High School Marching bands are in Pasadena, California, preparing to march in the Rose Parade New Year's Day. The Waukee Warrior Regiment was invited to participate in the 2021 Tournament of Roses Parade, which was cancelled due to the pandemic. The invitation was extended to the 2022 parade, to Waukee High School as well as the newly opened, Waukee Northwest High School.

The combined band will be one of 150-high school marching bands in the parade on New Year's Day, before hundreds of thousands of people in-person an estimated television audience of around 40-million viewers.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. (CDT) and will be broadcast on several networks.

The parade precedes the Rose Bowl game, between Utah and Ohio State University.
