Ankeny PD Arrest Suspects In 17-Catalytic Converter Thefts

(Ankeny, IA) -- Ankeny Police have arrested three adults and two juveniles, accused of stealing more than a dozen catalytic converters. Police got a tip about suspicious activity early Saturday morning, January 8th in the area of Campus Town. Officers stopped a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica and found 17-catalytic converters inside.

The adults arrested include: Amanda Mowry, Deja Harris, and Anthony Hinton.

Three adults and two juveniles were charged with two counts of Theft 2nd& Criminal Mischief 2nd. Additionally, one of the adults was charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and multiple traffic offenses. 

All three adults were taken to Polk Co. Jail and both juveniles were transported to Meyer Hall.

Ankeny Police say any vehicle owner who had their catalytic converter stolen January 7th and 8th to contact the police department and speak with Det. Muhlbauer at (515) 289-5266 or email him at bmuhlbauer@ankenyiowa.gov
