(Davenport, IA) -- A Davenport man's facing charges, after police say he held a woman against her will in a car. Police say 31-year-old Demico Hill threatened to drive the car into the Mississippi River Monday, then led police on a high-speed chase.

KWQC Reports Davenport police tried to stop a silver Chevy Impala before 8 o'clock Monday morning, after getting a report that Hill was holding a woman against her will, and threatening to drive the car into the river. The woman said she repeatedly asked Hill to stop the car, and Hill took her cell phone as she tried to call for help. Police say Hill led officers on a 75-to-90 mph chase on snow-covered roads. Officers arrested him and found meth in Hill's pants.

Hill was sentenced in February of 2020 to probation for burglary, eluding, drug possession, and assault causing bodily injury. In October 2021, Hill was sentenced to jail for contempt, with credit for time served, and ordered to continue probation. Court records show prosecutors filed a second motion to revoke is bond in November.

He's in the Scott County Jail, charged with kidnapping, eluding and drug charges. Hill was also cited for driving with a suspended license.
