(Des Moines, IA) -- The National Weather Service has released the first spring flood forecast for the year. Most of the state has a less than 50-percent for spring flooding. The risk is slightly higher in parts of northeast, east central, and southeast Iowa.
Brad Small of the National Weather Service in Des Moines says the snow pack is one of several factors in the prediction. Many parts of Iowa have received below normal snowfall amounts. He reminds Iowans it's early though, the outlook could change with a couple of big snow-storms and/or a very wet spring.
