Gunfire Narrowly Misses Sleeping Child, Mother In Fort Dodge

(Fort Dodge, IA) -- Police say gunfire narrowly missed a sleeping child and their mother in Fort Dodge. Police say officers heard the gunfire around 2:15 this (Tuesday) morning, and a short time later dispatch received calls about gunfire. Officers investigated and found several bullets had pierced the walls of a home in the 200 block of South 20th Street, -just missing an 8-year-old child and their mother. There were no injuries. Police say they do not believe the people in the house were targeted. Police also found evidence of shots fired at a second location, the 1900 bock of 2nd Avenue South, but no damage.
