Cedar Rapids Man Killed In I-80 Crash

(Cedar County, IA) -- A Cedar Rapids man was killed, and two other are hurt after an I-80 crash. The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of a semi crashed thru a cable barrier and crossed median in Cedar County at 9:20 this (Wednesday) morning. The ISP says the semi hit a Ford F-150 pick-up truck head-on, killing the driver, 71-year-old Steven Dolezal. A woman in the pick-up, 71-year old Joan Dolezal, was injured and taken to Genesis East Hospital in Davenport. The driver of the semi, 65-year-old Mykhaylo Palamarchuk of Chicago, IL was also taken to Genesis East Hospital.

The collision happened in the eastbound lanes of I-80, at mile marker 274, about 20-miles west of Davenport.
