Two Adults, Child Hurt In Northeast Iowa Crash

(Delaware County, IA) -- Two adults and a young child are hurt after a northeast Iowa crash. The Iowa State Patrol says an S-U-V collided head-on with a van on Highway 20 in Delaware County this (Wednesday) morning. Drivers Jacob Ahlers of Greeley and Jamie Weekley of Aplington, both age 22, were taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City. Ahlers was transported by ambulance, Weekley was airlifted. One-year-old Carter Shepard, a passenger in the van, was taken by ambulance to a Dubuque Hospital.

The ISP says the crash happened just before 7 o'clock in the westbound lanes of Highway 20, at mile marker 290. The ISP says The GMC Yukon driven by Ahlers went off the right shoulder, and Ahlers overcorrected and went off the left shoulder, then crossed the center median and collided with the Dodge Caravan driven by Weekley.
