(Ankeny, IA) -- An Ankeny man's facing charges after police say he threatened people and shot a car last (Sunday) night. Police say 29-year-old Max Kragel s also accused of possessing a stolen car and threatening a bar employee last night.
Ankeny Police were called to 1602 W. 1st Street at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, because of a report of a shooting.
Police say the caller said their car had been shot at, and they identified the shooter as Max Kragel. The victims told police they had been at Kragel's apartment visiting a friend when Kragel threatened to shoot them with a handgun. The victims say Kragel shot one round from a handgun, hitting their vehicle.
Police say Kragel was also in possession of a car reported stolen in Ankeny a few days earlier and had threatened an employee at Good Times (1912 SW 3rd St. - local bar) earlier in the evening.
Officers took Kragel into custody without incident and took him to the Polk County Jail.
He faces the following charges:
Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (2 counts) – IA Code 708.6 – C Felony
Domestic Assault while displaying a Weapon – IA Code 708.2A (2)(c) – Aggravated Misdemeanor
Theft 2nd – IA Code 714.2 (2) – D Felony
Felon in Possession of a Weapon – IA Code 724.26 (1) – D Felony
Harassment 1st degree (2 counts) – IA Code 708.7 (2) – Aggravated Misdemeanor
Assault while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon – IA Code 708.2 (3)
Going Armed with Intent – IA Code 708.8 – D Felony
