Clive, Iowa Bank Robber Leaves Money Trail

(Clive, IA) -- Clive Police say someone who robbed the Great Western Bank branch on Hickman Road today, left a bit of a money trail. Police say he was wearing a dark, Nirvana sweatshirt, and a ski-mask and did not show a weapon.

Police say the suspect ran from the bank, jumped a fence, and ran south into a residential neighborhood. Police found a trail of cash leading toward Clive's Greenbelt Trail.

Police were called to the Great Western Bank at 13150 Hickman Road just after 12:30 p.m. Employees said a white male, wearing a ski mask, entered the bank, and handed a teller a note demanding money, and indicated that he had a gun, although no weapon was seen.

Clive Officers were assisted by Urbandale Police Officers and an Urbandale police dog.

Searching officers found cash scattered along the escape route of the suspect.

Anyone with any information are asked to call Sgt. Damon Herzog at 515-867-5017.
