Teens Charged In Ankeny Fight, Shots Fired Case

(Ankeny, IA) -- Five teens are facing charges after a large fight, and gunfire between suspects and cops last Saturday night. Police say 17-year-old Marbati Garab of Des Moines is charged with two-counts of attempted murder and one count of burglary. Three other 17-year-old males and one juvenile are also charged in the case.

Those charged with burglary include 17-year-old Mohammad Abdulrahman of Des Moines, 17-year-old Kah Reh of Des Moines, and 17-year-old Poe Reh of Austin, Minnesota.

Police say more arrests are expected.

Police were called to 1343 SW Prairie Trail Parkway before 11 p.m. February 26th, because of a fight. Police say dispatch started getting calls about multiple shots fired at the Prairie Point Apartments), and another caller reported a white vehicle leaving the seen after the shots.

Police found the car and stopped it at SW Oralabor Road and NW26th Street. Police say the car stopped and two people got out and started shooting at officers. Police say both suspects ran into a wooded area. Two people who remained in the vehicle were detailed and questioned.

There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire.
