Teen Charged With Arson In Story County

(Story County, IA) -- A central Iowa teen is accused of setting fire to a convenience store and a school bus in Maxwell. Both the building and the bus were destroyed.

The Story County Sheriff's Office says the first fire was reported February 3rd, at the Casey's General Store in Maxwell. A fire was reported at the same location February 6th. The building was destroyed.

A school bus was discovered on fire around 3:30 this (Wednesday) morning. The Collins-Maxwell School District says the bus was destroyed.

Evidence led to the arrest of a 17-year-old, who has been charged with two counts of arson and one count of criminal mischief.
