(Undated) -- Last weekend's severe weather took a toll on several electric utilities. Line crews were called out right after the storm because of thousands of power outages. A number of rural electric cooperatives reported damage as well. Most outages were restored by Sunday.

The East-Central Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative reported storm damage at its Vinton operations center. Winds damaged doors, the roof, and sidewalls. No one was at the facility during the storms.

Farmers Electric-Greenfield, Clark Electric Cooperative and T.I.P Rural Electric Cooperative all reported damage as well from the storms and tornados.

MidAmerican energy crews replaced 275 power poles and 10-miles of lines. The utility says 225-people were deployed, including line, tree, and support staff. Additional crews were brought in from Sioux City, Council Bluffs, Fort Dodge, Waterloo, Storm Lake, and Iowa City.

MidAmerican says at the peak, there were 10,500 homes and businesses impacted by outages. The utility says most customers' power was restored with six hours. All outages were restored by Tuesday night.

MidAmerican also reports gas safety crews responded to 16 separate emergency calls.
