Two People Hurt In Separate Cedar Rapids Shootings

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids Police are investigating two shootings Monday, March 14th. The first was reported at 6:55p.m. Officers were called to the 2100 block of North Towne Ct NE and found one male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his extremities. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The second shooting was at 8:38p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th St SE. Officers found a female victim in a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh.  A second residence nearby was hit by gunfire as well resulting in property damage. The victim was treated and released. 

Police say it appears both shootings were targeted events and unrelated. Both of these investigations are active and ongoing.
