(West Des Moines, IA) -- Westcom Emergency Communications is the first such entity in Iowa to use a new citizen satisfaction survey. Callers to Westcom 9-1-1 may receive a text message hours or days after the call asking about their interaction with dispatch. Westcom Chief Darin Riney tells WHO Radio News the text message survey will only be sent to those who called with non-critical issues.
Westcom serves Clive, Norwalk, Urbandale, Waukee, West Des Moines, and Windsor Heights.
“It is important to hear from the community about how we are doing, especially from people who have recently called 9-1-1,” said Westcom Chief Darin Riney. “This new product, called CueHit, will give us access to citizen feedback in near real time and provide insights into areas where we can improve the service we provide to the community. It also helps us boost call taker morale when positive feedback is provided.”
Riney says the survey has just become available this week, and so far the feedback has been very positive.
CueHit is a new company that started last year as a way to provide tools to Public Safety to help facilitate new kinds of engagement with the community - especially those with recent interactions. CueHit is rolling out to 9-1-1 Centers and Police Departments nationwide after its start in New Jersey and Colorado.
