(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa Cubs are scheduled host the Toledo Mud Hens in tonight's home opener at Principal Park in Des Moines, weather permitting. Randy Wehofer, I-Cubs Vice President and Assistant General Manager, says fans of the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs will notice some changes this season, including a new barbecue stand down the third base line, featuring corn dogs and cheese curds. He says the ball park will have other new offerings this season too.
He says they're bringing back "Catch on the Field" on Saturdays, starting at 6:08 PM. He says they've moved up game time an hour to allow families to get home earlier in the evening.
He also recommends Cubbies Kid's Club for children. Members get a t-shirt and tickets to every Sunday game, and get to run the bases after those Sunday games.
The I-Cubs started the season with a road series against the Buffalo Bisons last week.
