(West Des Moines, IA) -- Old, unneeded medication can be safely disposed between 10 and 2 on Saturday at multiple police departments, sheriff's offices and pharmacies. The effort is part of National Drug Take Back Day, which is held twice a year. In October, Iowans dropped off more than 6,000 pounds of unwanted medications.

West Des Moines Police say if you can't make it Saturday, they have a medication drop-box for limited quantities in their front lobby.
