(Ames, IA) -- Economic development experts are looking to rural Iowa for the next big idea. The Small Business Development Center of Iowa and Greene County Extension will host an event May 19th, called "Energize the Economy Roadshow." The event will be at the Greene County Extension office in Jefferson, from 5 -7 p.m.
The event is designed to connect the community, local partners, and small businesses to celebrate Greene County and learn more about opportunities through Greene County Extension and America’s SBDC Iowa. The event will feature activities and games for kids, Dinner from Greene County Cattleman, and access to resources and local leaders to help start and grow your business in Iowa. America’s SBDC Iowa will have their mobile trailer available at the event with resource materials, information about upcoming webinars, and SBDC Business counselors to answer general small business questions.
“We are extremely excited to partner with the Small Business Development Center to get out in Greene county and talk with businesses and community members directly about ways we can help them energize our economy,” says Greene County Extension Director, Lori Mannel.
America’s SBDC Iowa is an outreach program of Iowa State University’s Ivy College of Business and the Office of Economic Development and Industry Relations.
Similar events are planned for Corydon in Wayne County, on May 7th, and in Knoxville (Marion County), May 10th.
