Omaha Police Foundation Honor Officers In Annual Ceremony

(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Police Foundation has named Officer Brandon Fender the 2021 Officer of the Year. Officer Fender was awarded the Police Lifesaving Medal for helping save the life of a person going through a mental health crisis.

The Omaha Police Foundation also presented the Community Impact Award to Operation N.E.T.S. for providing basketball hoops and other sports equipment to youth in the community and helping foster police-community relations.

During today's luncheon, numerous OPD officers were awarded medals and ribbons for their exemplary service to the city of Omaha in 2021, and one citizen was presented with a public award of appreciation.
