Drought Deepens In Parts of Nebraska

(Lincoln, NE) -- This week's U-S Drought Monitor shows a larger area of the state in D3 or Extreme Drought in counties in southwest Nebraska. Nearly all of the state remains in either moderate or severe drought, with the exception of southeast Nebraska counties. Extreme and exceptional drought have expanded in Kansas and Colorado. Nearly half of South Dakota is in some form of drought. Conditions in Iowa have shown improvement over the past few weeks, due to frequent rain showers.
