(Ames, IA) -- Iowa's commercial airports are planning some big improvements. The airports are sharing 100-(m) million dollars in state grants, to upgrade buildings and parking. The funds are being allocated thru the Iowa Commercial Aviation Infrastructure Fund, which was made possible by allocations thru the Federal American Rescue Plant State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.

Airports have until December 15, 2023 to obligate the funds and until June 30, 2026 to claim reimbursement of eligible expenses.

Des Moines International Airport is getting in nearly $59-(M) million. The money will pay for a new five-story parking garage and a new terminal design.

The Eastern Iowa Airport will get more than 28-(M) million dollars toward it's new terminal project. Other commercial airports will each get between one and three (m) million dollars for parking and hanger upgrades.
