(West Des Moines, IA) -- West Des Moines will be the sight of Topgolf's first venue in Iowa. The high tech golf venue will feature 72 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays, plus food, drinks, and year-round entertainment. The project is planned for Jordan Creek Parkway and Mills Civic Parkway. .

"Our focus is on creating more ways for people to play the game of golf in a fun and unique way, and the Des Moines area is the perfect place to kick off our growth within the state," said Topgolf Chief Development Officer Chris Callaway.

Topgolf says they plan to create 300 full- and part-time jobs. The company has not announced a timeline for the venue. The closest Topgolf locations currently are in Omaha, NE and Kansas City, MO.

The project will be the third such venue planned for the Des Moines area. Two other projects have been announced this year at Grand Avenue and I-35 in West Des Moines and on Merle Hay Road in Johnston.
