Two Ankeny Men Charged With Gun Trafficking

(Ankeny, IA) -- Two men are charged after a large amount of stolen property, including weapons, was found in Ankeny. Police say the two men, ages 18 and 19, are accused of stealing guns from cars and selling them. The two are also facing drug charges. Police most of the guns stolen, had been taken from unlocked vehicles.

On Thursday, July 14, Ankeny Police served a search warrant at 807 SW 28th St. #205 after an investigation into multiple car burglaries led detectives to the address. Detectives arrested Akim Duot (18) and Kochnor Kong (19) on charges including trafficking in stolen weapons, unauthorized possession of offensive weapons & drug offenses. Police say more charges may be filed.

 The Ankeny Police Department would like to remind everyone to lock all vehicles and never leave firearms or other valuables in cars.
