Ames Teen Killed In Story County Crash

(Story County, IA) -- An Ames teen is dead after a crash on Highway 30, a half mile east of Sand Hill Trail in Story County. The Sheriff's Office says a car driven by 16-year-old Christian Oswalt of Ames rear-ended a trailer, being pulled by a dump truck this (Monday) morning around 9:40. The driver of the truck had been slowing to make a right turn when the crash happened. Oswalt was a student at Colo-NESCO High School. The driver of the truck, Gage Englebart, was not hurt.

The investigation into this collision is continuing by the Story County Sheriff’s Office. Assisting in the response were Mary Greeley Ambulance, Mercy One Air Med, Nevada First and Fire Department, Nevada Police Department, DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
